Aldi is selling a Baileys dupe that tastes just like chocolate orange – shoppers are going wild for it

ALDI is selling a Baileys dupe that tastes just like chocolate orange – and shoppers are going wild for it.

The discounter is selling milk chocolate clementine country cream liqueur, to rival Baileys, for a bargain price.

A 70cl bottle of Baileys can cost between £10 and £16.50 at supermarkets as we head into the festive season.

Meanwhile the limited edition Baileys Orange Truffle Liqueur is not currently available in supermarkets, and is selling for Amazon for £22.

But Aldi’s new dupe, with an orange-flavoured twist, could fill the liqueur shaped hole – and save you some cash.

The 70cl bottle of Ballycastle Chocolate Clementine Cream Liqueur will set you back just £7.49.

This means that Aldi shoppers could save up to £14.51 if they bag the the Ballycastle dupe.

The budget supermarket describes it as “like a popular brand of orange-flavoured chocolate, but in a bottle.”

Shoppers have rushed to social media to praise the new flavour, with one post gaining a whopping 3,000 likes and 1,400 comments.

One shopper said: “Got mine already! Love the chocolate and orange mix.”

Another said: “This is lush, polished off a bottle this week!”

A third wrote: “It is gorgeous!!”.

While one delighted shopper added: “I need! Deffo getting this next time I’m in Aldi.”

The Milk Chocolate Clementine Country Cream is the new addition of many other products in the Ballycastle range.

The item is only available in Aldi stores and you can find your nearest one by using the locator tool on the supermarket’s website.

It’s always best to phone ahead to your local shop to check what they have available to avoid disappointment.

It always pays to compare prices so you know you’re getting the best deal.

Prices can also vary day to day and by what deals are on at the time, plus remember you might pay for delivery if you’re ordering online.

You can compare prices on platforms like Google Shopping.

The other flavours currently selling in Aldi include the traditional Baileys-esque Irish Country, as well as Chocolate Peanut Butter, White Chocolate and Pineapple and Coconut Colada.

The Ballycastle Irish Country 70cl bottle costs even less – at £5.49, it is priced £11 lower than the original 70cl Baileys.

When’s the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items – when shops open

Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”

That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.

Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.

For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.

You don’t have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.

They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend at least £25, you’ll get the items delivered for free.

Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible
