Celeb SAS’s Billy Billingham brands star who quit just three hours into show ‘disgusting’ saying he was ‘worst’ on show

CELEBRITY SAS star Billy Billingham branded one star on the show “the worst of the series” after returning from New Zealand.

On Sunday, the intense military training show returns with new star recruits who believe they have what it takes to make it through the perilous course.

However, one star doesn’t even make it past day one, completing only one challenge before ripping off their arm band and voluntarily withdrawing (known on the show as “a VW”).

Billy Billingham, who is the chief directing staff (DS) on the series, admitted he was furious at the star for quitting after just 32 minutes on the course.

He told The Sun in July: “So we’ve got an array of people. What I will say to you is this – I make every one of them cry.”

“I can’t talk about this because it hasn’t come out, but you’ll see when the next one comes out… There’s a certain person on there, which I was just… I couldn’t believe it.

“I was like… really?

“You have a chance here to do so many great things and you just can’t be bothered.”

“It’s a man, just couldn’t be bothered to, he didn’t even get past day one. So there’s your answer,” he added.

“You’ll see him. I was disgusted, absolutely disgusted, to be honest, you know. So that was my worst one.

“I can’t say and I want to say it so bad but you’ll see.”

Before joining the Channel 4 series, Billingham was a member of the Parachute Regiment before joining the SAS as a mountain troop specialist.

Which comes in handy this year, as the 15 celebs are sent off to the terrains of the mountains of New Zealand.

In the first episode, he guides them through a tightrope walk along two bars held up 300ft in the air over a ravine, before an assault course created to resemble a hostage rescue.

Among this year’s cast is Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson, Strictly’s Pete Wicks, Bianca Gascoigne, former England rugby player Chris Robshaw, and Love Island’s Ovie Soko.

One of their most controversial signings is John Barrowman, whose career stalled after being accused of sexual misconduct on set of Doctor Who.

Witnesses described the incident as an inappropriate prank, rather than sexually predatory behaviour, but he was sacked from Dancing On Ice after the scandal in October 2021 and promptly “cancelled”.

Fans will have to tune in to see which celeb doesn’t make it.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins starts Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
