Police on Friday were pursuing a vehicle believed to be stolen along the Los Angeles coast, authorities confirmed.
The L.A. Police Department’s Harbor Division confirmed the pursuit at about 12:20 p.m. At about 12:24 p.m., the vehicle was located by Sky5 driving through Long Beach.
The vehicle, a black hatchback, was driving recklessly through the area, often crossing onto the wrong side of the road and driving at what appeared to be high speeds.
After driving on the Pacific Coast Highway, by 12:30 p.m. the suspect drove onto northbound Interstate 710 in Long Beach, before transitioning to I-405 south. The driver was driving erratically on the freeways, cutting through traffic and oftentimes driving on the shoulder.
It appeared that at least one passenger was inside the vehicle.
