The much-awaited Season 2 of ‘Squid Game‘ will hit Netflix in December. To add to the hype, the streamer has shared a new teaser that gives a hint of what to expect and what roles the star cast takes for part 2.
Season 2 will premiere on 26 December 2024, bringing fans back into the twisted competition at the centre of the series. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk is thrilled about what’s in store.
So what to expect in the upcoming Season?
“Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the States and comes back with a new resolution in his mind,” reads the official Season 2 synopsis. “Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.”
Familiar faces will return season 2 including, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo.
Impeccable newcomers Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an will all appear in Squid Game Season 2 as an ensemble of colorful new characters.
Season 1 of “Squid Game” follows cash-strapped contestants who play childhood games with deadly consequences in a bid to win 45.6 billion won ($38 million).
“Squid Game” pulled in a staggering 1.65 billion hours of viewing in 28 days following its 17th September 2021 premiere, according to Netflix.
