Plymouth County Board of Supervisors — September 10, 2024

The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors met in the Courthouse Boardroom on September 10, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.   Chairman Don Kass called the meeting to order.  All votes following are a roll call vote of an aye per each board member, unless otherwise indicated.  The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Meis, to approve the 9/10/2024 agenda.                                         Motion Carried.

Motion by Horton, seconded by Van Otterloo, to approve the 8/27/2024 board minutes.                     Motion Carried.

There was no meeting on 9/3/24.

Motion by Horton, seconded by Anderson, to approve the payroll paid on 8/30/24 and the claims paid on 9/3/24.

Motion by Meis, seconded by Van Otterloo, to approve the Plymouth County Ethanol Urban Renewal Report for FY 2023-24 to be filed with the IA Dept. of Mgmt.                                                             Motion Carried.

Motion by Horton, seconded by Meis, to certify $366,593.70 of debt from FY 2023-24 in the Plymouth County Wind Urban Renewal Area.                                                                                                                     Motion Carried.

Motion by Van Otterloo, seconded by Meis, to approve a Class C Retail 5-day liquor license to Slush Up & Drink, LLC DBA, Lucky Wife Wine Slushies, Inc. from October 8, 2024 to October 12, 2024.                     Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Horton, to approve a one-year liquor license renewal for Tucker Hill Vineyards, Inc.                                                                                                            Motion Carried.

Motion by Horton, seconded by Van Otterloo, to approve Dreckman’s C30 Homestead a minor subdivision in Section 13 of America Township.                                                                                                         Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Meis, to approve Rolling’s Addition, a minor subdivision in Section 16 of 90-44.

Motion by Meis, seconded by Horton, to approve declaring 2003 Vulcan Oil Fryer and a 2006 Curtis snow blade as surplus items to be publicly sold via sealed bids.                                                             Motion Carried.

The Plymouth County Dive Team members, Cole Heissel and Joel Johnson, presented a list of items needed for the Dive Team.  The Board of Supervisors discussed allocating $15,000 of general funds from the Sheriff budget for FY 2024-25 with a budget amendment in the future.  The Board of Supervisors will approve the funding at the Sept. 17th Board meeting.                                                                                                                          Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Meis, to approve a permit to WesTel Systems for various locations in Remsen, Marion, Fredonia and Elkhorn Townships.                                                                        Motion Carried.

Motion by Anderson, seconded by Van Otterloo, to end regular session and enter closed session at 11:06 am per IA Code 21.5 (j) to discuss matters dealing with real estate.  All votes aye.                                               Motion Carried.

The Board meeting adjourned at 11:36 a.m.
