Alexis Lorenze was suffering from a rare genetic disorder Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria which required a long period of hospitalization and a complex treatment regimen.
Alexis was required to receive vaccines for tetanus, meningitis, and pneumonia prior to a blood transfusion.
The three vaccines were administered simultaneously and led to a severe reaction. It was a case of medical negligence and Alexis and her father have been documenting her condition extensively on social media. Alexis has also said that she has contacted a lawyer.
Who Happened To Alexis Lorenze?
Alexis has blamed the UCI Medical Center in California for negligence. The hospital is yet to respond to the allegations. Photos which were uploaded on social media show Lorenze with a swollen face and dark red marks on her body. She is currently in the ICU but will be shortly shifted to another medical facility soon.
Alexis Lorenze’s posts have since gone viral and many users have expressed their support and offered prayers for her early recovery.
One user wrote,
“Have you seen what’s happening to Alexis Lorenze at UCI Irvine Medical Hospital?! She’s fighting for her life right now—Injured by THREE vaccines at once, and the hospital is doing NOTHING to help her!”
Another person wrote,
“This poor girl is fighting for her life after an adverse reaction to the Dtap, meningitis, and a pneumonia vaccine. How evil!!!!! Share her story and pray for this young girl.”
Alexis gave the details about how she landed in this precarious situation. She stated that she was suffering from a blood disorder which required her to undergo blood transfusion. She went to the UCI Medical Center for a blood transfusion. Her condition improved but not 100% and Doctors stated that for the transfusion to work she must be up to date with her vaccination.
Alexis then received three vaccines for meningitis, pneumonia and tetanus. Soon her body started suffering from adverse reactions caused by the administration of the vaccines.
The father –daughter duo also alleged that since they began documenting Alexis’s condition on social media the hospital has moved her to a small room with no bed for her sister, who is taking care of her, to sleep. Her father also stated that she is going to be shifted to another hospital.
