UPDATE (WNCT) — The hazmat regional response team out of Williamston is on scene assessing the situation and taking readings.
BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — Emergency management officials in Beaufort County are asking people to avoid, “Fifth Street, from Third Street to Carolina Ave.” A water treatment facility in the area has caused the evacuation of homes and businesses nearby.
Hazard mitigation crews are working on this. Officials are responding as well.
