An old video of Representative Stacey Plaskett mistakenly saying Donald Trump "needs to be shot Resurfaces After Assassination Attempt

An old video of Representative Stacey Plaskett mistakenly saying Donald Trump “needs to be shot” during a 2023 MSNBC interview has once again resurfaced at the most inopportune time when a second attempt was made on the life of the former US President.

It was a verbal slip which was immediately corrected by Stacey.

However, the resurfacing of the video has once again exposed the fault lines in American Polity, particularly in the context of recent violent attempts against Trump.

As mentioned above, the video is not recent and is an interview of Representative Stacey Plaskett, given to MSNBC in June 2023.

In the interview, Rep. Plaskett in a slip of tongue said that Trump needs to be shot over his mis-handeling of sensitive and classified documents.

However, Rep. Plaskett realized her mistake and immediately corrected herself and said that Trump needs to be stopped.

Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands) said,

“Having Trump not only have had the codes but now having the classified information for Americans and being able to put that out and share it in his resort with anyone and everyone who comes through should be terrifying to all Americans, and he needs to be shot—stopped.”

Republicans had reacted to the accusations against Trump for mishandling classified files and said that two benchmarks have been used –one which resulted in Trump’s indictment while Hillary Clinton, who had kept classified documents on a private email server was not prosecuted.

This is the second assassination attempt of the former President.

The latest incident happened when Trump was playing golf at his West Palm Beach golf property on Sunday.

Secret Service personnel spotted a suspect later identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, pointing a gun at Trump.

The Secret Service personnel immediately responded and used their side arms forcing the suspect to flee. He was however apprehended later with the help of the public who alerted the police.

An earlier attempt on Trump happened two months earlier in which the bullet grazed Trump’s ear and also led to the killing of one rally participant. The attacker was later shot dead by the security personnel
