SOCO’s Fall events: Oktoberfests, food, fun and more

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — Autumn is almost here, and with that comes an array of different activities locals and families can enjoy, such as pumpkin patches, fall treats, and more.

Whether you’re looking to indulge in the delicious food items that come with the season, like pumpkin spice, or participate in pumpkin carving, there is something available for every member of the family.

Colorado Springs

  • The Fall Harvest Festival kicks off fall celebrations on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Gold Hill Mesa Community Center. The free event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the community center. There will be food vendors including Ciao Down, Papa Bearz Grill, and Dazed Creations. Wristbands will be available to purchase for kid’s activities including a petting zoo, obstacle course, and face painting. The Sofa Killers will also be onsite for a live performance.

  • Dead Man’s Brewfest will also take place on Saturday, Sept. 21. The event will be held at Weidner Field starting at 5 p.m. for VIP, and 6 p.m. general admission. Tickets are available for purchase online. The festival will offer hand-selected beers, liquors, and wines.
  • Oktoberfest at Phantom Canyon Brewery will be held on Sunday, October 6th. From 3-7 p.m., and will feature spirited competitions such as the Stein Hold, pretzel toss and traditional clothing competition. Taste a wide variety of local brews , and enjoy live music from Neue Polka. Early bird tickets are $35 and can be purchased here.
  • The 2024 Fall Showcase at WhirlyBall will offer attendees the opportunity to taste gourmet dishes and signature drinks, along with the chance to experience everything WhirlyBall has to offer, including WhirlyBall, bowling, laser tag, and more! Tickets are free, but you can reserve a spot here.

Cripple Creek

  • Cripple Creek’s Fall Festival will be held on Oct. 5 and 6 on Bennett Avenue. The festival will feature activities starting at 10 a.m. each day. The fair will have food trucks on site, a pie contest, a chili cook-off, and street vendors. There will also be live music from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Florence

  • Florence Brewing Company’s 9th Annual Oktoberfest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to until dark — at the same time festivities begin in Germany. The event will be hosted at the brewery located at 200 S. Pikes Peak Avenue. There will be games, food, special beer and more. Dressing in costume is highly encouraged.
