Cleone Kay (Wilson) Beardshear, 81 of Prattville, AL formerly of Kingsley,IA passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Prattville, AL. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Rohde Funeral Home, Kingsley, IA. Officiating was Rev. Jody Herbold of Salem Lutheran Church, rural Correctionville, IA. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
Cleone Kay Wilson was born July 25, 1943 in Kingsley, IA where a mid-wife assisted in her birth. She was the daughter of Paul and Arlene Wilson, she was raised in Kingsley graduating from Kingsley High School in 1961.
In 1964 she graduated as an LPN from Sioux City area technical school. After graduation as a LPN she worked in retirement homes and hospitals for 35 years.
She married Harvey Beardshear in 1964 at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, IA. To this union three children were born, a daughter, Christine, two sons, Troy and Chad.
After a lengthy illness Cleone and Harvey moved to Alabama to live their son, Troy and his wife, Kim.
Cleone enjoyed being around her grandchildren, collecting antiques, loved her animals and nature itself. She loved life and spent most of it in nursing caring for others.
Survivors include include her three children: Christine Beardshear, Troy (Kim)Beardshear and Chad (Kelly Beardshear, 5 siblings: Jeannette Still, Colette (Kevin) Nebola, Duane (Denise) Wilson, Dale (Vickie) Wilson and Dean Wilson and 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Arlene Wilson; husband, Harvey; sister, Pauline Mesenbrink and a grandson, Zachary Leffew.
