Naga Munchetty rakes in up to £25k in a MONTH for job away from BBC Breakfast – after fans moaned she was hardly on show

HARDWORKING Naga Munchetty has raked in up to an extra £25,000 in one month – on top of her BBC salary.

The breakfast star is one of the Beeb’s highest-earning presenters – as she takes home over £345,000 in her BBC wages.

Naga presents the BBC show Thursday to Saturday alongside Charlie Stayt.

Presenters are also allowed to pick up extra earnings by being hired at after-dinner speeches, hosting Q&A sessions for firms, and handing out gongs at corporate bashes.

Staff disclose their extra earnings to BBC bosses and the amounts are published by the corporation under transparency rules.

And the latest BBC External Events Register has shown that Naga was paid between £5,000 and £10,000 for hosting a Veuve Cliquot awards ceremony in London on 13 June.

On June 16, she was paid up to £5,000 for hosting an event for an organisation called Stardust.

Naga also picked up between £5,000 and £10,000 for being an interviewer for software firm NICE Systems on 25 June.

The Sun has contacted Naga’s representative for comment.

At the glitzy champers firm awards, she anchored the French company’s Bold Woman Award.

Naga has previously told how she works hard for her salary and has to be in the BBC Breakfast studio by 4.50am.

The TV star – who has opened up on her hidden health battle in recent years – then plays golf to unwind.

Talking about a typical day in her life, Naga – married to TV director James Haggar –  said: “My first alarm is at 3.45 and I’m in the BBC Breakfast studio by 4.50.

“I’m a terrible prevaricator. As a kid, my mum would have to physically pull me from my bed.

“My first thought is always: how long can I stay here before I have to drag my arse to the gym?

“I haven’t worn anything in bed since I was about 16.

“There’s something very luxurious and freeing about being naked and having clean sheets around you.

“I never wear make-up outside work – I’m quite lazy.

“I’ll rock up to Broadcasting House in jeans and trainers and a roll neck jumper, have porridge and a cup of tea at my desk, then we’re on air from 11 to 1pm.”

Talking about what she does to unwind, she said: “In summer I neglect my friends because the golf course beckons.

“On a perfect day I could be back home and teeing off at 3pm. My handicap is 6.1 but as long as the other person isn’t an utter dick who chats on about their own swing when I want to talk about mine.

“I’m quite blunt – I’ll happily play with anyone. I love the chat and the wine afterwards.

“But I’ll also happily whack my headphones in and find great joy playing on my own. Golf is a completely selfish pastime.”

Back in May Naga Munchetty was missing from BBC Breakfast for a second week – and Nina Warhurst stood in for her.

In August we reported that the fan favourite also went ‘missing‘ from our screens.

She has long been open about her brave health battle after being diagnosed with adenomyosis.

Adenomyosis is a condition that causes the lining of the womb to bury into the muscular wall of the womb.

Naga previously left her BBC Radio 5 Live listeners in shock when she confessed that as a result of her medical condition she was broadcasting to them in crippling pain each day.
