Valet critically injured in attack at popular West Hollywood cafe

A longtime valet at the popular Barney’s Beanery location in West Hollywood was left in critical condition after he was beaten by an unknown attacker over the weekend.

“This past Saturday night, our long-time valet Frankie Zarazua was viciously beaten in the Barney’s parking lot in a random attack,” Barney’s Beanery posted on Instagram Monday.

The post stated that Zarazua was in an intensive care unit after sustaining multiple injuries to his head, neck and body.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies confirmed they responded to an assault call in the 8400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The caller told deputies that the victim was attacked by a shirtless man but no further details about the suspect were available.

“Frankie has been part of Barney’s team for over 30 years. He is kind, funny, and welcoming to everyone he encounters,” the cafe’s Instagram post stated.

A GoFundMe page was set up by Zarazua’s family to assist with medical expenses and help with bills while he is in the hospital.
