Shoppers have gone wild as Aldi announced the release of their new party meal kits – and they’re great for quick dinners after school and before evening clubs (or for a delicious weekend treat).

The Oakhurst meal kits are suitable for two and contain 12 chicken nuggets, two tomato ketchup dips, two portions of french fries and two orange ice coolers.

Posting on the official @aldiuk Instagram page, the much-loved chain shared a snap of the new kits and wrote: “Back to school means back to busy days!

“Take away the stress of meal planning with these NEW Oakhurst Meal Kits.

“Perfect for treating your kids to a quick, tasty dinner after a long day of learning.

“Grab these Party Meal Kit boxes from our Freezer Aisle now.”

Many bargain hunters were excited by the new meal kits – which not only look tasty, but will save time-strapped parents having to drive down to McDonald’s and wait in huge drive-thru queues.

One Aldi shopper was so thrilled to see the handy kits that she took to social media to alert others, leaving many open-mouthed.

Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, a private Facebook group with 2.5 million members, Amy Murray shared a picture of her find and penned: “Thought these new meal kits from Aldi were a brilliant idea!

“One box is supposed to feed two kids so [it] saves you going out to buy McDonald’s!”

Amy then confirmed that she spotted the £3.99 kits in an Aldi store in Dalgety Bay and also saw them in Aldi in Halbeath Road in Dunfermline

When cooked at Electric 200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6, the chicken nuggets will be ready to eat in just 18 to 20 minutes, whilst the chips take just 15 minutes.

Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts

IF you’ve ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you’ll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.

Aldi’s speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.

It’s all part of Aldi’s plan to be as efficient as possible – and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.

Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.

It also uses “shelf-ready” packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.

These tasty kits are also suitable for cooking in an air fryer too.

Shoppers were left beaming at the cheap kits and many flocked to the comments to express this.

One person said: “I need to get some of these.”

Another added: “Brilliant, definitely on the shopping list!”

A third commented: “Ooo they look good.”

Whilst someone else penned: “I did three kits between five of them last night and it went down a treat, they all loved it.”

More Aldi middle aisle buys

IF it’s middle aisle buys that you’re looking here, some of the new items you won’t want to miss.

Shoppers recently went wild for Aldi’s new ‘pregnancy and menopause essential’ – and it’s only £6.99.

Garden enthusiasts raced to nab a £6.99 buy that will add style to any garden in an instant.

A £12.99 garden find left shoppers open-mouthed – but you’ll need to sprint to nab it.

If you’re looking to light up your garden this summer, you won’t want to miss this £8.99 solar light.
