I’ve never had Botox but people think I look decades younger than I am – they double take when they hear my real age

A MUM has revealed how strangers are always shocked when she reveals her age and think she is over a decade younger than she is.

Wrinkle-free Jessica Wright has three kids and is 42 years old but claims people mistake her for being in her 20s – despite her never having had Botox or filler.

The Brisbane-based finance worker told Femail: “Most people are shocked and they do a double take. It’s often compounded when I tell them that I have a 21-year-old son too.

“I certainly never set out to look youthful, but it’s nice that people think I do.

“I’m definitely not afraid of aging, it’s such a privilege! Friends have described me as ‘high on life’ and ‘a ray of sunshine’. I like to think I’m both of those things, because what an honour to be described in such terms.”

Thankfully Jessica has revealed the secrets behind her age-defying looks.

She claims to be a “super simple girl who has never bought into fads, brands or magic potions.”

However, she does swear by wearing no make-up, eating well and avoiding alcohol.

The only times she enjoys an alcoholic tipple is at weddings or big events, around five times a year – the same amount of times that she wears cosmetic products.

Jessica strives to drink 2L of water a day and steers clear or coffee and tea.

Smoking is also strictly avoided.

The mum-of-three described her skincare routine as “basic” and has moisturised her face daily since she was 13.

She added: “I wear sunscreen in the sun too. I lost my dad to melanoma, so I know first-hand just how important it is, but sunshine brings my soul so much joy so I never really limit myself unless it’s absolutely necessary.”

To stay fit and active, she goes to the gym twice a week to do cardio and lift weights and she also enjoys going for walks.

Jessica claims having spinal surgery in 2020 was a “super confronting experience” and she was left “frightened” that she wouldn’t be able to walk without disability aids again.

She was given mobility physio exercises and yoga and pilates exercises to help regain her mobility, and it has inspired her to stay active in her 40s.

Speaking of her age, Jessica added: “I often think about the fact that Diane Keaton and Steve Martin played 45-year-old parents in the 1995 film The Father of The Bride. I’m not far off that age now, but when I look at those film images today I would place them more at 55-60.”

She said that haircuts and clothes can play a big role in how people’s ages are perceived.

Jessica said that while it was once thought of that women over 40 shouldn’t have long hair, she has thrown the rule book out the window and feels liberated.

How to reverse ageing in just 2 weeks, according to royal go-to nutritionist

LONDON -based Gabriela Peacock, who has helped the likes of Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie prepare for their weddings.

She told Fabulous: “The science is evident that we all have the power to make simple life changing alterations to better our future selves – no matter what genetic hand we might have been dealt with.

“The reality is, we all sometimes indulge in unhealthy eating habits like processed foods, smoking cigarettes, drinking too much alcohol, inhaling city pollutants, and even drinking water from plastic bottles – none of this is good for us.

“All this does is promote the ageing process, but we all have the potential to change this.”

It may be hard, but try to keep away from sugary carbohydrates, because they feed chronic inflammation, which is one of the worst enemies of reversing ageing.

Now only will you end up putting on weight if you consume them regularly, but your energy and hormonal levels will be affected and this will influence how you look and feel.

Whatever your age or state of health, it’s never too late to reverse how quickly you are ageing and embrace the energy and vigour of a younger you.

Antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E, are essential in neutralising free radicals—the culprits behind premature ageing.

Integrating a spectrum of colourful fruits and vegetables into your diet provides a potent source of antioxidants.

Omega-3 fatty acids, abundant in fatty fish like salmon and flaxseeds, are vital for maintaining skin elasticity and hydration.

Omega-3s act as nourishment for your skin, locking in moisture and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

Collagen, a structural protein dwindling with age, can be replenished through collagen-rich foods like bone broth and lean protein sources.

Jessica claims her main secret to looking youthful is her attitude towards life and said she dresses how she wants and still goes to nightclubs until 3am with friends despite being the oldest there.

The Aussie shared how she takes inspiration from her 71-year-old mum who is “70 going on 17.”

Jessica added: “She travels overseas, goes on cruises with girlfriends, she paints, she is the coordinator of her local over 50’s group, and she’s had a couple of boyfriends. She dances until midnight at local live music gigs – talk about 70+ goals!”
