50-year-old Jon Bradley Williams of Knobs Landing in Connelly Springs was arrested Thursday (September 12) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with two felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance, along with single felony counts of larceny, possession of stolen goods or property, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Williams is also charged with nine counts of failure to appear. The charges include felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance, breaking & entering, larceny after breaking & entering and possession of a firearm by a felon.
On September 9 and September 12 Williams was scheduled to be in Burke County Superior Court and Burke County District Court, respectively on multiple pending charges that the District Attorney’s Office and his defense counsel had come to a plea agreement to resolve. On both dates, Williams allegedly failed to appear, which resulted in warrants being issued from both courts.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the suspect’s failure to appear on both dates and of the outstanding warrants. On Thursday, deputies and detectives went the suspect’s Knobs Landing, Connelly Springs, address to find Williams and serve the outstanding warrants. Williams was found attempting to flee the jurisdiction by packing his truck full of his clothes and other belongings.
According to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Williams has been arrested 14 times since January of 2023. Following Thursday’s arrest, Williams was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $957,500 secured bond. Court dates are scheduled for October 7 and October 30.
