For our movie of the week, we dive into Netflix’s high-octane thriller, ‘Rebel Ridge‘. The story follows Terry Richmond (Aaron Pierre), a former Marine whose mission to bail out his cousin takes a dangerous turn in the corrupt town of Shelby Springs.
After local law enforcement, led by Police Chief Sandy Burnne (Don Johnson), sets him up in a bike accident and seizes the money meant for his cousin’s bail, Terry finds himself locked in a deadly battle against a corrupt police force.
Determined to fight back, Terry gets help from Summer McBride (AnnaSophia Robb), a court clerk who becomes entangled in the town’s deep-rooted conspiracy. As they uncover the truth, Terry’s combat skills and mysterious past come into play, escalating the stakes and putting both their lives in danger.
Directed by Jeremy Saulnier, Rebel Ridge is a fast-paced thriller packed with explosive action, sharp social commentary, and intense suspense. The film explores themes of justice, morality, and survival in a relentless ride through small-town corruption.
